A wonderfully drinkable interpretation of a classic English ale. Bookbinder is a blend of four malts combined with two classic Nelson grown European hops (Fuggles and Riwaka). The beer pours an attractive reddish brown, with a cream coloured head. Bookbinder has a sweet, perfumey, malt and hop aroma with a soft, malty, fruit and vinous palate that is both full flavoured and refreshing with a long, gently drying finish.

For years, Richard Emerson has had big plans to brew beers under the name 'Deafinition'. Unfortunately, these plans went off the rails. You see, Richard is easily side-tracked. And the culprit is, almost always, trains. So, while he's off doing the locomotion, Emerson's are brewing Deafinition beers for him. Chasing Trains is one of Richard's favourite styles. A barley wine that'll warm the palate, with fruity hoppiness, citrus and toffee flavours, and a wine-like mouthfeel. Yes, it's a real trainspotter's beer.

Chocoloato is chocolate milk for grown ups. While it might not be very family-friendly, it is extremely planet friendly, animal friendly, worker friendly and palate friendly. A smooth creamy stout, combined with delicious, Fair Trade, Otis Chocolate Oat Milk, to create the most velvety, rich beverage imaginable. It's basically your pudding in a pint glass. Enjoy before, during, or after dinner.

Wash down your huhu grubs, pickled worms, and mountain oysters with a refreshing can of Crickets. This hazy pale ale was created especially for the Hokitika Wildfoods Festival, using cricket flour, made by crushing the insects. The wild, high protein supplement helps increase the haze and body of the brew. But you will be relieved to know it just tastes like beer with delicious peach, passionfruit, and lemon notes. You won't like Crickets, you will love it.

The adventure doesn't have to end when you get home. Day Tripper is a low carb beer that's as intrepid as you are. Brewed with a combination of hop pellets and hop oil, for better mouthfeel, balance, fruitiness, and complexity. It's more than just a post-activity refresher, it's a flavour journey all of its own - from tangelo base camp, all the way to a crisp, stone fruit finish line. Enjoy the trip.

Richard Emerson loves it when his ears burn. It either means he's being talked about, or he's drinking one of his absolute favourites, a chilli chocolate stout. This luxurious, decadent brew is made with OCHO cocoa nibs, red chillies, and Belgian yeast, giving it a deliciously complex rich plum, raisin, and chocolate flavour, a smooth velvety texture, and of course a warming spicy finish. Don't worry, while Deaf by Chocolate may make your ears tingle a little, it won't actually make you deaf.

Drifter is the beer with no real plans. A cold IPA that doesn't know where it's going until it gets there. The initial hoppy hit of citrus, tropical, and stone fruit flavours soon drifts into a clean, crisp, and cruisy finish. Best enjoyed super-chilled, at your own pace, in your happy place. You don't need to know what time it is to know it's beer o'clock.

Before the sixties started swinging, mild mannered Brits liked nothing more than a Mild Ale. It was the nation's favourite beer style in a time of politeness, moderation and general niceness. Ducks in a Row is a throwback to these days. Classically malty, with soft toffee and caramel notes. Despite the modest 3.3% it also has a good body, thanks to the subtle addition of Golden Syrup. Turn any day into a rather pleasant mild day.

30 years of The Country radio show, means three decades of Jamie Mackay's dulcet tones filling our airwaves. He sure can talk. But Raymond Bowan and Richard Emerson came up with a plan. Farmers Cut extra thick cut chips, paired with Farmer Pour Extra Crispy Pale Ale. It's the Perfect farmers combo to celebrate a real farming legend. The Emerson's brewers couldn't wait to get their hands on the latest crop of fresh Motueka hops from the greenthumbs at Garston Hop Farm. After harvesting, they're rushed from farm to brewery, and straight into the kettle. The extra-fresh cones give the XPA an extra-lively lemon and lime flavour, with background notes of tropical fruit, and a lovely hop oil texture. You're sure to give it a double green thumbs up.

A hallucinatory, mind-bending, consciousness-expanding, dream-like experience is not what you'll find in this can. It's just a beer, man. But, this cloudy IPA does have a gnarly hit of Riwaka, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops, with a tropical citrus flavour, and a totally piney finish. At least it's a trip for your taste-buds. Far out.
